Today's Assignments
Iowa History: We have been learning about the Native American groups that first lived in Iowa. Today we focused on the Mound Builders. We've read and discussed the importance of the their burial customs. The students made their own replicas of an "Effigy Mound". We used edible supplies to replicate one. Please ask your child about the steps they had to take to make a complete mound.
Math: Students took their chapter test today. I will correct them over the weekend. We will discuss their questions and see if we need any extra practice. :)
Students need to complete the Drops questions 9 and 10 by Monday!
Social Studies: Students need to complete D.O.G 14-7 and 14-8 by Monday.

Notes:
Notes were sent home at the beginning of the week about the upcoming winter concert. Students in 5th grade will perform at 2 pm. Parents may enter the auditorm around 1:40ish if you wish to just watch the upper levels perform. Students need to wear nice clothing for the concert. We will stay in at recess that day, so students don't need to worry about ruining their outfits or hair. If you didn't get a note, please let me know.
