Parent-Teacher Conferences

I would like to say "thank you" to all of the parents who were willing to come and visit with us about your student during parent-teacher conferences. It is so important for kids to see that their parents take a great interest in what they are doing and how they are doing.  It's also nice for parents to come into the building to see some of the students' work displayed around the building.

The fifth grade social studies students have been studying about the early Native Americans on the North American continent. Along with that, they learned about the Hopi's belief in Kachina Spirits. Students were asked to design their own kachina and tell what their spirit represented. They are hanging on the wall next to the gym in Jacobson Elementary.  They turned out great! Great job!

Mrs. Dickman's 6th grade social studies class designed what the city known as "Catal Huyuk". It was one of the earliest civilizations found in Turkey.  Students were broken into groups and were assigned a task of either making ladders, people, doors or the buildings. The end result looked awesome. If you'd like to see it, please stop into the classroom to see it.
