              by math time on Monday, Sept. 12 or
              else it doesn't count.

Social Studies:  D.O.G 3-5 and 3-6

Please make sure students are completing their homework daily. We had many students who had to stay in at recess because of incomplete work.
Also, we had our first math quiz today and many students did not score the way the thought they would. Please help your child remember to study for exams in the future.  Some of these students will be spending some extra time on place value. We will work in small group during recess.

Exploratory:   What kind of learner are you? Poster
                          -Students need to design their character to look like themselves.
                          -Write 7 characteristics of that kind of learner around the edges
                            of the paper surrounding the character.

Math:  We just started "Patterns of Place Value". This is a difficult task and
            some students may have difficulty with this task. If you can't help them at
            home, please ask your student to come and see me right away in the
            morning.
            Assignment is pages 16 &17  (12-36 even).

Social Studies:  D.O.G Questions 2-7 and 2-8
                        Latitude and Longitude worksheet pg. 7
                        Treasure Map project (due on Friday, Sept. 9)

September 2, Assignments

Assignments for September 2, 2011

Exploratory:  No assignment

Math:  Graded worksheet pgs. 3 and 4.  Students are allowed to look back at their textbook assignments to remember how to do a certain problem if they forget. They may also use their textbook for help. THIS IS A GRADED ASSIGNMENT! :)

Social Studies:  D.O.G 2-5 and 2-6
                        Map Skills Project due Friday, September 9th
        - Students need to follow the directions sheet to complete their own treasure
          map. Remember this is a project so it is worth a lot of points. Be creative and
          neat. Bring it back to class if you have questions, otherwise this project needs
          to be finished at home.
